  15.  
  16. Commando Raid is a single player, full color game simulating Arcade =
  17. Action
  18. and designed to be played on the ATARI (R) Video Computer System (TM) or
  19. the Sears Video Arcade (R).
  20.  
  21. You are in defense of your buildings which have come under attack by =
  22. android
  23. commando raiders. Without warning they appear, intent on capturing your
  24. buildings and destroying your gun emplacement.
  25.  
  26. First the troop carrying helicopters fly in dropping android =
  27. paratroopers
  28. to test your defenses. Soon the sky is filled with fluttering =
  29. helicopters
  30. and wave after wave of android paratroopers. They must be destroyed! =
  31. Each
  32. paratrooper allowed to land on a building destroys a portion of that
  33. building. If three paratroopers land on a building. It will be totally
  34. destroyed and must be considered under commando control.
  35.  
  36. Worse still, the androids can now tunnel towards your gun emplacement.
  37. Each paratrooper who lands on that building expands the tunnel. If they
  38. are not stopped, they will plant an explosive charge under the gun.
  39.  
  40. In the midst of the battle, an aircraft may appear. It will drop a
  41. devastating bomb which can destroy all buildings and the gun =
  42. emplacement.
  43. You must shoot it down or at least shoot the bomb it drops. If you miss,
  44. its back to basic training!

  49. Instructions
  50.  
  51. 1)      Connect the Atari (R) Video Computer System (TM) or
  52.         Sears Video Arcade (R) following the manufacturers instructions.
  53. 2)      Install the Left joystick control. The Right joystick is not =
  54. used.
  55. 3)      Insert the cartridge making certain that the power is OFF
  56. 4)      Move the POWER switch to ON.
  57. 5)      Select the game variations of your choice using the left and =
  58. right
  59.         difficulty switches and the TV TYPE switch.
  60. 6)      Move the joystick forward to start the game.
  61. 7)      Push the RESET switch any time to start the game.
  62. 8)      After the game is over, a new game may be started by pressing =
  63. the
  64.         joystick forward.

  66. Scoring
  67.  
  68. 1)      Shooting down a helicopter or bomber is equal to 200 points.
  69. 2)      Shooting down a commando paratrooper or a bomb is equal to
  70.         115 points.

  72. Awards
  73.  
  74. Every 10,000 points you will be awarded a new building to take the place =
  75. of
  76. the building that is most badly damaged. A ringing bell signals the =
  77. award.

  80. Levels of play
  81.  
  82. There are eight levels of play.
  83.  
  84. Each level is defined by a different colored paratrooper Squad.
  85.  
  86. Each level contains more paratroopers in a single helicopter attack.

  90.  
  91. 1)      The COLOR SWITCH selects anti-aircraft fire control;
  92.                 Color =3D Manual Fire
  93.                 Black & White =3D Automatic Fire
  94. 2)      The LEFT DIFFICULTY SWITCH selects straight bullets or steerable
  95.         missiles;
  96.                 Position A =3D Straight Bullets
  97.                 Position B =3D Steerable Missiles
  98. 3)      The RIGHT DIFFICULTY SWITCH selects the Bomber;
  99.                 Position A =3D No Bomber
  100.                 Position B =3D Bomber
